Oleg and Natasha, and Global Action
Many in our congregation have been supporting Oleg Abornyev, his mother Natasha, and their mission to help the orphans of Kharkov, Ukraine. We were blessed to meet them in person this past November 8th as they shared their story during our worship service. Oleg spoke of the blight of the orphans and how their love and caring for them opens the way for them to share the love of Jesus Christ. Bob Baker played host to them for three weeks while they were in the States, and we enjoyed the "brotherly antics" during their presentation! Following worship, we joined together in the Master's House to share a catered lunch. It was truly an inspirational morning. If you are not already supporting Oleg and his orphans, you can make donations in your offering; simply designate it for Oleg. Jacket and Coat Donations Delivered to St. Bonaventure Indian Mission in Thoreau, NM
Doug B. and Phil C. delivered 65 plus jackets and coats to the St. Bonaventure Indian Mission and School, grades k-8, in Thoreau, NM. This school serves the Eastern Navajo Reservation. These items were donated by members of ACC and St. Helena Catholic Church. This mission has served for 40 years. The delivery was made on Friday, December 4th, which was a busy day for the staff and students of the school. The following day, the 5th, they would be serving a turkey dinner to the community. Afterwards, each family will receive a bag of clothing (which includes our jackets), and children will receive a toy. Here are a few pictures of the students, staff and volunteers from the school.
